In the middle of Sighisoara Citadel, right at the foot of the Hill, where the 175 steps of the Covered Stair ends, a haughty house invites the traveler to rest, apparently begging him to listen to its story:

Long ago, the Fronius family (and old transylvanian saxon family) built one of the few houses that were to resist the devastating fire in 1676.

Sign of high social rank, the water well in the bailey saved what after hundreds of years was to become a jewel of the old Citadel. The Latin inscription, dating since the great fire, resists at present, as well, worthy, on the façade of the house as a sign of "thank you" addressed to God for His protection.

Fronius Residence has, now, 7 rooms, each with a different style, as regards the dimensions and decorations. In some of them, the gothic ceilings still bear the marks of the great fire. They are furrowed by arches of sculpted stone and, here and there, you can see the restored original picture. The doors` lockers are the old original ones. The furniture is old, being in tune with the atmosphere of the house, being purchased piece by piece from different areas of Transylvania. The exquisite bathrooms, made of natural materials, include slight contrast of old style and new style, precisely conceived for the visitor`s complete comfort.

Reception & Bar
The old cellar place was taken by the small bar. The tables in the bar also bear the deep trace of time, with inscriptions from 1822 or 1900. The reception desk bears the trace of time, as well. The high ceilings and the discrete stained glasses introduce the visitor in the story, making him more and more curios.

The glory boxes, all of them authentic, old beams, mirror games, paved streets, percentile curves and arcades, all these details outline the energy of the old times, unchaining the visitor`s imagination and filing his soul with the beauty of the stories with princesses and knights. The fountain near the bar is a "pearl" of the house, one of the only two still functioning fountains of the entire citadel.
